May 1st: Shamini's surprise 21st: Success!

It is going to be almost a week and I am still not fully recovered.
A nose that runs faster than a tap and a throat that is as sore as fever.

BUT, nothing stopped me from attending my Shamzy's 21st birthday surprise. Her boyfriend, Jason has put in so much of effort to prepare for this day and I really wished for it turn successful and fortunately it did.

Okay, so, according to Shamini, I was not in Singapore on that day and I had wished her in advance the day before.

The plan was for everyone who is invited to gather in the room that Jason had booked at Amara Hotel(Sentosa) before Shamini arrives and surprise her when she does. Of course, he required the help of willing friends to lend him a helping hand for the decorations and other stuff but due to certain constraints, I could not be there early but I had helped by getting the BIRTHDAY CAKE. Hehehe.

On that evening, as I was getting dressed up, I felt so flu-ish and sleepy but I told myself that I need to pull through and I did so. I wore a dress that was bright red in colour, with light make-up and a styled wet hair. Oh, my owl designed earrings too!

Thank god, I did not forget the handmade cookie monster card I had prepared for Shamini while fighting with the flu monsters.

I made my way there and it was nice seeing the clique after a long time. The boys and the girls. Especially Tharunya!!! It has been extremely long since I saw her. We told ourselves that we need need need a picture together.

There was a delay in timing but after awhile everything went as planned and the birthday girl was carried into the room (it was so damn cute), being surprised as she was unblinded by the blind fold. It made me smile so widely seeing her blush in joy. Honestly, she is someone who has been by my side all the time and I would do so much to see her happy.

Besides these, two other things made me happy; cupcakes that were in the shape of a cookie-monster and the birthday cake that is of my favourite flavour and hers too.

I love love love the Chocolate Exotic cake from Four Leaves. Even a slice of it could bring endless joy to me. I like anything that has a combination of chocolate and biscuit-like texture.

The cupcake was not too bad, but it would have been better if the icing was not too sweet.

I went over to feed the birthday girl and she immediately went, "so somebody is in Malaysia is it? huh?" and we both started giggling. Handed over the card to her and that girl actually started reading it in front of me and I was glad it was something else that put a smile on her face.

I hanged out awhile there, although I knew that I was heading to Malaysia the next morning for a temple tour with the Fam Bam! We played a few games and I cabbed back with the girls. I reached home at nearly 2am and I had to wake up at 5am, so yes that was a gamble but I have done this before and we know that Swangz is a champ in pulling off sleep deprived days. :P

Here are some photos from the successful birthday surprise:
